Originally, the Kickstarter campaign for Pixel Tactics Deluxe would have three different mini-expansions: Black Ops , Sealed Secrets and Final Frontier . But because of problems with distributors and retailers who disliked the small package format, the three packs were combined into a single new edition of the game, Pixel Tactics 5.

Pixel Tactics 5 will have all the 8 characters from each small expansion (totalizing 24) plus an extra character yet unrevealed to complete the 25 characters per pack that is usual to the series.
