The Vaum are superficially identical to humans , but they do not have souls . These individuals have a shallow look to their eyes, and possess none of the mystical or spiritual power of their human counterparts. They possess subdued emotions, and have preternatural speed and strength. They can ignore pain and are nearly un-killable, neither by trauma nor disease. Called ‘undead’, ‘vampires’, or ‘hollow’ by their human cousins. Most of the population of Gesselheim is Vaum.
