Character[]

Before he was bound in eternal service, Vekyl was the groundskeeper of Candide's ancestral estate, and once sought her hand in marriage.

Story[]

A deathless knight in service to the daemon Candide, Vekyl serves the Voice of Malephaise out of both duty and love. Once of the few remaining souls that knew her during her human life centuries ago, he has remained devoted despite her corruption and his own death. Still, he is by no means blind to what he has become over the centuries. Regrets haunt him, and he is tormented by the corruption that has consumed both him and his mistress.

Dajiin, ever the astute observer of human nature, used Vekyl's regrets to ensnare him. In exchange for the genie's promise to restore his master to her human self, Vekyl has agreed to participate in Dajiin's schemes.

Though he doubts Dajiin's intention to carry out the genie's end of the bargain, Vekyl knows that playing along will give him the opportunity to seize the ruby and bend the sorcerer to his will. Such a chance is rare, even with a lifetime of centuries, but he is willing to bet everything on the slimmest of hopes for redemption.

Powers & Abilities[]

Vekyl commands a horde of ghostly attackers which chase down opponents and whittle away at their life. A competent fighter in his own right, he uses his high mobility and defense to lure opponents into traps and sap their life with his ghosts, finishing them off with his blade.

Setup: Place a Wisp on the center of the arena. The remaining Wisps are in your supply.

Limited Ante: Place a Wisp on or adjacent to you (a space cannot ever contain more than 1 Wisp).

End: Withdraw a Wisp on an opponent for Chip 1. Starting with the Wisp nearest to the opponent, shift each Wisp 1 towards the opponent, but not onto another Wisp.
